I was at the Tim McGraw concert in Albuquerque, NM on June 19, 2008. We were roasting in the sun when I heard in the distance a voice I wasn't familiar with. At first I thought it might be a song from the radio, but as we looked we noticed a band playing on the "Frito" stage. As we sat there I kept thinking who are these guys and why on earth haven't I heard them before??? I took the paper on the table with Lance Miller download on it www.big7records.com. This morning I tried searching our local station concert info to find out who the artists on the Frito stage were. I'd been searching to no avail when I figured I'd check out that free download. The "pretty face" seemed lightyears from the "downhome guy" on stage, so I proceeded with caution. I immediately went to ITunes to hear what Lance Miller sounded like and...there was that voice!!! I went back to the site with the free download and bought the whole album.
Listening to the whole thing several times was like being HOME! I grew up on Mickey Gilley, Alabama, and John Conlee in the 80's and Lance is a home cooked meal served right. You didn't even know you missed it until it's served and there in front of you. Sorry about the cheesy metaphor but it's all I can do to communicate how wowed I am.
I sure hope the stations down here get it and run with "Old Back In The New School", but I'd be grateful for just about any of the songs on the album.
