Sing me home

sing me home...

i love country music. i love any good music, but country music really does 'sing me home.' listening to a song i havent hear since i lived in oklahoma, really does take me to another place, i cant say that for any other kind of music. I cant say that for anyone else, but it sure does work for me. Country music just fits me, like my new cowboy boots, it just feels right. it isnt hurting anybody, so dont scoff and say 'what a jerk' when i say that this is the music i love, cause i bet i could play you a song that could bring a tear to your eye, something that touches you, something really powerful that makes you think. Maybe you dont like the sound, but you cant deny that it's the truth.

Some people complain that country isn't 'country' anymore. Rascal Flatts, apparently thats pop music. i dont care, it's good music, i can relate to it. Same for Keith Urban, but i get chills up my spine everytime i hear 'stupid boy,' i can't help it if he's telling the whole world my story. Some people say that country is 'too country' whats 'too country'? i dont know. 'too much twang' is my favorite answer, isnt that prejudice about people who speak, or sing, differently? at least country singers aren't trying to change for those people. and thank the lord they dont listen when they say 'drop the fiddle and steel guitar,' its the music people used to play together as a family, it sounds like home.

My friend, lance miller, who is fortunate (and talented enough) to have been playing at tim mcgraw and faith hill's recent soul2soul tour, once told me 'If a song doesn't make you laugh cry or dance, there aint much use in writing it.' and i think thats true. i like music that does that. i like 3 chords and the truth, i like good music, i love my country

and a little more on Lance, since this is his website...
Being in England, people have often said to my that they don't like Lance's style. I don't get it. In my mind i can not comprehend why his
fabulous music is not loved by everyone. To me he is a star, no matter what the charts say.
I first met Lance on the 31st of march 2005, unfortunatly it's the only time i have seen him in concert, but if i had my way i would be at every show. Lance has been wonderfull about keeping in touch, and his music has helped me through more than i think he will ever know. so i want to thank Lance for making this wonderfull music, that i love. and i want to thank him, for saving me.
